Nombres versus Infini
L'infini en ipunu est nommé ilungue. Infini n'est pas un nombre mais un concept mathématique.
Toutes les collections telles que celle de tous les nombres de comptage, qui se poursuit indéfiniment, sont infinies, et un processus qui peut être poursuivi indifinitivement est également infini. Bien que le concept de l'infini soit difficile à saisir, nous pouvons simplement le définir comme non fini, où fini signifie quelque chose qui - au moins en théorie - est complètement déterminable par le comptage ou la mesure.
Infini a ses propres règles de calcul:
∞+∞ = ∞ ; ∞.∞ = ∞
Il y a aussi nombres transfinis.
